Tonight Zack was very gently beaking me...much softer than usual and not with the energy he usually devotes to it. He was also regurgitating some food and chewing it, then swallowing it only to do it again. When some of it cqme out onto my finger, he would immediately try to eat it again. I fed him some home made mac and cheese earlier tonight, elbow macaroni and real cheese, not from a box. It seemed that was what he was bringing up.

I think I've seen him do this before with other foods and I know mac and cheese isn't the best for him. I think I'm going to keep him on bird food for a couple of days and see what happens.

Kiwi does that sometimes (regurgitates, eats it, and repeats). I think its because no one wants to accept his "gifts of ABC love", that or he really liked his dinner :) Plus, it is their breeding season, so they go a little more heavily into trying to offer you their affection via regurgitation. It is natural and normal, but we don't encourage it.

Amazons don't have cud... that would be a cow.

They do however, reguritate, by bringing up food from their crop and eating it.

A little Mac and cheese doesn't hurt.

You bird loves you and want to be your mate. Careful, Amazons are possessive of those they chose.
