Has anyone seen this before?

Looks a lot less stressful for the bird, not sure how comfortable it would be though.

I'm always terrified they will open the clasps. At lest 2 of my Ringnecks can open that style of clasp.

do the clips add a lot of weight? Demo-bird is a lot bigger than ekkies

That was one very tolerant Mac.. She said she's been wearing a harness for 17 years though so obviously is quite accustomed to it.
Looks simple enough to me lol.

Katie? How much does Jasper weigh? At Amy's wellness check up last week she was 486g's..
I don't know if I'd want clasps or Velcro  I'd want it as unstressful as possible for her,but also secure..:15:

looks interesting. I will look into getting one for my Zon's.
I think it would be easer than trying to get the loop over the head of a parrot with the aviator harness.

Seems a lot easier to get on a bird but idk how comfy it'd be. It'd be nice if the clasps had a strip of velcro that could go around it to add comfort and make it harder to unclasp.

I wonder about the weight as well. Looks easier, but that's partially because I'm all thumbs when trying to work the aviator harness. Any issues when hooking it up are usually 85% on me. Lol!

As for velcro, I'm fairly certain neither of my birds would be tolerant of the sound when time comes to take it off. They'd probably freak out, actually.

And I was also VERY impressed with that mac's tolerance level. And not a single bribe in sight. Lol!

No kidding. I have to keep stuffing Jasper's mouth full of treats every step of the way. ESPECIALLY when it's time to remove it. He wants to freak and wiggle around but treats keep him somewhat sane until I can get it off of him.

Id appreciate a snap or velcro or some way of fastening/unfastening the neck collar. I can get it on easily enough, but taking it off--against the feathers--is what he hates the most. He's gotten a lot better in the last few weeks about wearing it. He only grumps at me now for about 2-3 minutes when we go out. By the time we are at the end of the street he's too busy looking around to remember to be pissed at me.

I would NOT trust that harness. Too easy for a bird to open or break one of those clasps.

Heya
I'm pretty new to the forums, but hear me out.
I've been looking on ebay for a parrot harness, and I was *horrified* to see that the aviator harness sells for £25
Are the alternatives really that bad?
This one looks OK

*NEW* AVIAN ADVENTURE HARNESS FOR LOVEBIRDS-GREEN WING MACAW PARROT BIRD HARNESS | eBay

If you could recommend me a good brand then I am all ears:
The feather tether looked far to big and bulky with those metal clasps and I don't really like the look of the diaper bag.
Are there any velcro harnesses which are easier to put on?

But as I am fairly new to the idea of harnesses for a parrot, I kind of want to know other owners thoughts.

Alternatively, if any of you have an old Aviator harness (or one you would recommend)
for an INR, and are willing to sell a bit cheaper then be sure to PM me (London area - collection)

Many thanks!

Im far from being an expert but here are my thoughts. This an area where quality absolutely counts! It's a given that they're going to chew on it. You want something that is sturdy. So far my boy has not cut through either the tether or the harness, but when you're out and about with your bird is not the time to find out that one good hard pinch and the elastic tether is now 2 pieces. Clips and rings that are zinc, or coated...and not stainless steel can poison your bird--so know what it's made from. Cheaper versions are cheaper usually because they skimp on something. The Aviator design is good, fits well, and seems to be of good quality materials and workmanship.
It doesnt look like any of the stitching will fray or pull out.
