Hello everyone,
I joined to ask few questions I have in mind and hope someone with more experience can provide answers. So I have lutino IRN for about 4 years now so she must be she for sure by now right? She often however does heart shaped wings, pins her eyes and enlonges her neck while doing this lol which is why we thought for long time that she is male. But ring never showed up. Now we got 2nd lutino girl (as we're told). She is supposed to be exact same age as our girl but these 2 birds don't look or sound alike. New bird has squre shaped head, she's larger and has very visibly larger beak than our girl. Their sounds are nothing alike as well. Ours screams so loud that our ears ring sometimes lol new girl is a lot more quiet. Her sound has different tone and is not even closely loud. So I'm confused now, is there a chance that new one is actually male and they're wrong about the age? Or that she's even older and grew larger over time? I'm really confused now, don't know what to think of them. Also they both heart shaped wings at each other at some point during first introduction. Our regular girl is anxious and would clearly attack new one if she could touch her as she launched at cage bars towards her a few times. New one seems very calm and uninterested in her mostly. My intention isn't to have them together right now, she might stay with us for few days but I got her for my mom in fact. But I'd like to know if there is a chance for two hens to get along if we would need to have them together some time again? So I'd like to hear other people's opinions of the new bird and potential of her not being her but him. Also, ours is hand fed bird and new one is aviary bird. She had home however, but clearly they didn't work much with her, they said she bites and she doesn't talk while ours learned some words and is cuddly with my bf but she'll bite me lol also I noticed new bird doesn't have flying feathers on 1 wing and I'm not sure why? Ours lost them while still very young but that happened only once and after that she never lost so much from 1 wing that she wouldn't be able to fly. Is this normal for this bird, should we get her some more vitamins to help with feathers? Seems like she ate mostly sunflower seeds based on food we got with her.

Are the heart wings done while standing up as tall as they can, or crouching down really low?

Som mutations don’t get rings but a lutino should and I’ve had them wait 3 years but never heard of waiting 4.

Actually they did it while climbing cage bars now. They climb so they heart shaprd their wings and stretch their necks. Not at the same time. First our old one did it and later new one too. Our old one does it towards some things like bottle for example or to some food we give her from our hand. If she's standing on floor she stretches up high. But I also think at this age ring should have showed up already if it was supposed to appear. She cuddles like hens do with my bf but makes strange noise, doesn't sound like any other hen I saw on videos and doesn't twist her head around while doing so but pose is definitelly how hens cuddle. For the new one I can't be certain of her age, they could have given me wrong information. She's adopted and she changed 3 homes in short time. I'm surprised at difference between them. New one seems larger and has stronger, larger beak than our old one does. I wonder also what could have happened to her wing, is she molting or she lost her feathers somehow :33:

And we had accident with her today. We had to rush her to vet today, aggressive jerk of my old one somehow managed to grab her and bite her tongue she for some reason explores her cage a lot and sticks her tongue out of cage bars a lot. We've put cages in front of one another but not close enough for them to touch each other. The moment we went to kitchen to make breakfast we heard new bird scream. At first I thought she just got scared of something cause I don't know yet what scares her. Then we saw blood coming out of her mouth. She lost a lot of blood today and they gave us some antibiotics for her to take in next 5 days with water so I must ask is there something more we can do for her to recover faster? I feel scared cause of how much blood she lost. And I feel so sorry for her, she seems like such nice bird compared to what they told us about her while our old one is a monster compared to her. We've been told she bites a lot but she sidn't even try to bite anyone yet. She grabbed my hand with her beak but didn't even try to bite, she was only trying to get a hold on something. She let us cuddle and touch her already so as for now she seems tamed enough to work with her but I'm scared now if she'll be ok now. She only took some water and can't eat yet which they told us she'll be in pain so probably won't eat much. I was thinking of cooked veggies for her while she recovers, would that be ok to give to her?

I'm sorry to hear this situation

Cooked veggies are ok to parrots. You can try to mix fruits (eg apple and banana), this may help in this situation. You also can try to add some water to it. My friend/mate's parrot also injured his tongue and the apple-banana-water mix helped.

Well she isn’t a lutino, at least not JUST a lutino. She may be a creamino, or a harlequin lutino; harlequins don’t get rings as mature males. More pictures of both please.

I’m very sorry for the injury to your bird. As a general rule it is unwise to let birds meet through cage bars.

Is the cage in the picture a hospital cage? It’s important for birds to have natural wooden perched with various sizes and not thin plastic ones.

Thank you, will try to make that mix then. I coocked some veggies before to my old IRN but she mostly eats fresh. I read before about their diet and what they should/shouldn't eat but never read about such situation and vets told me she might reject food due to pain

She seams a lot brighter in this photo I think, I'll try to make better ones, she was moving around as I took photos so this was the only one that isn't blurred of her wings only. We put cages with distance enough so they couldn't touch each other as we thought they might grab one another for legs so we made sure they can't do that. How she managed to get to her tongue I'm not sure but this one probably sticked it out too much and the other one was able to pierce just the tip of it but enough to make her bleed. Yes this is the transport cage only, we brought her in this one and she has her large cage that we didn't set up yet because it has some rust on it that we weren't told about so we want to remove rust and have cage full cleaned from it before assembling it and putting her in again. Here's another photo from today:

She too has problem with one wing no idea why as we got her this way too without knowing it's not in right place but she can fly. Gets tired fast but at least she flys well enough to make few circles around rooms
Forgot to mention about perches, she has wood ones too, I had to wash them well before we place them so they are set now in cage. We never use plastic ones for them, in other cage I have also wood and quartz sand perches for nail care since we don't clip nails to our old one but she learned to do that on her own.
