Sun Conure (f) Tallulah
So I made my first chop yesterday. I had been buying a food cooked by the woman I bought Tallulah from. It was some cooked food that she froze in freezer cubes. She likes it but never ate a ton of it. Anyway, the lady is in another state and the last bunch I bought I forgot at my friend's house. So I needed to make something myself.

I made the chop relatively fine. Everything is raw unless specified.

aduki beans (cooked)
quinoa (cooked)
israeli cous cous (larger than regular, pearl sized pasta basically) cooked
Sweet potato (cooked)
mixed greens baby spinach, bok choy, and Swiss chard
jalepeno peppers, seeds removed
red bell pepper
crushed dried chili
ground flax seed
corn (was frozen and thawed)
dried currants
butternut squash
a bunch of cilantro

She doesn't seem to be eating it. Did I make it too hot? Please give feedback!

Hot, spicey? It may take a few tries for her to try it. Keep offering~

Yes hot as in too much jalepenos and dried red chilies.

No, you didn't fail at all. :)

Tallulah may just take a little while to get used to the "spicy" taste.

That sounds like a GREAT recipe, BTW. :)

Tallulah does not perceive spicy peppers the same way humans do, don't worry. Like Wendy said, it's a new recipe and she will need time to get used to it. Mix some of her favorite treats in with the mix (chopped nuts, etc) to entice her to try it.

Thanks Boom, I thought I read on here they love hot peppers and don't feel the burn. But then when she wasn't too interested in it I thought maybe I was wrong.

That looks gooood! I don't think it is a fail at all. Since yoy and I both made chop for the first time together, we will both wait and see what the picky fids think about it ;)

Mine has refused to even go near the bowl after the first nibble but I will offer more in the morning with his normal (and compulsory in his opinion) two slices of corn on the cob, 3 (not 2, not 4) snap peas and some chopped fruit (papaya or stawberry).

Let me know how your second offering is received :)

Oh, btw, mine looooves chilli seeds - not so much the actual chilli but he picks out every seed and even roots through the bottom of his cage for any he may have dropped ;)

I put some spaghetti or something else that they absolutely love inside every new dish I am offering them. Often it does drive their attention to the new food and they try it.

I saw her eat some!!! Yay. She loves corn and raisins. I only used currants because they didn't contain preservatives and the raisins did.
