Most of you probably know the background of my birds by now but for those that don't I will give a little history.
I brought home Prissy and Smokey about 8 months ago. I had them in separate cages but one night I wasn't home and my husband was supposed to put them to bed. Somehow Smokey ended up in Prissy's cage and well that was that... I ended up buying a big cage for them to share.
Fast Forward 6 Months>>> Smokey started chasing Prissy constantly and then I saw him pulling her tail feathers out
So I rushed out and bought another big cage exactly the same and separated them! :smile016: PRISSY HAS BEEN SO HAPPY since! She could care less about him now. However, he is still obsessed with her!!!!
Well the Drama still continues! At first I put their cages next to each other. Not touching but close. Every time Smokey got out he would fly to her cage (even though he is clipped) and start chasing her again! So we ended up moving smokey to my Daughters Room (he is her bird anyway) He gets plenty of attention, toys, food, out of cage time.... But, Smokey IS NOT HAPPY!!!! He isn't eating and is down to 58grams he was at least 64grams before I separated them.
I WILL NOT PUT THEM BACK IN THE SAME CAGE for Prissy's safety!!! I need advice on what to do?? He also has flown off and ended up on Skittles cage before we could stop him and he tried to pull her tail feathers out! That did not go well at all!!!! She gave him a WARNING bite and he was bleeding I am so glad it was just a warning!!!
So my question is...... What do I do??? Do I move his cage back and just not let them out at the same times or do I wait out his food strike?
DESPERATELY NEEDING ADVICE!!!
