Its a 3 month filter but im going to check it monthly. They are only $15 or so so replacing it sooner wont be too hard.

Dani ive read your article. Ill read it again. I did at one time remove the nesting box as suggested. She laid eggs on the floor and bit me when I walked by.

Fortunately for now she is laying small clutches. I need to work harder on light control. But I havent figured out a good safe place for their cages at night.

I can limit food too. Several things I already dont do or arent allowed to do. I cant touch Rex at all. Jet will step up but I cant touch him either.

As for boiling the eggs no. Sorry just no. I cant do that. Life is life and I cant take it. Going into exact detail violates the forum rules against discussing religion.

Rexs case its probably a moot point anyway. She laid an infertile clutch of 3 and when they didnt hatch she laid 4 more eggs.

2 hatched and they are happily raising them. If they hadnt she would probably have laid more. Jet does alot of the work once they have hatched.

I freely admit that keeping Rex was an error on my part. I should have fostered then found a home. I didnt dna sex her and I thought she was a he.

Having posted that I care for her and meet her needs the best I can. I enjoy her company and she is finally warming up to me some.

Other than the breeding issue that I am working on she gets the best care I can give her.

What about giving her some fake eggs to sit on? If there are enough she won't want to lay more. Also, maybe you could try rejoining them to a friend or a family member's home. That way you will still be able to see them and get updates.

The fake eggs might work at least for a while. Ill give them a try. Thankfully if she keeps her normal pattern there wont be any more eggs for about 12 weeks.

Ok I just ordered some. Ten for five. Three weeks to arrive.
Any tips on how to use them. Rational or not I dont want to give het more than 3 because thats her normal clutch and I dont want her to see more.

Also once I start using them if she follows her paytern she will lay eggs after sitting them for four weeks.

Also they are good parents and typically sit day one. Second egg layed at the latest.

I personally haven't used them but the place I volunteer at does. I say try to put them in around when she will lay ( but right before she does) and see if she falls for it
