*****

This month's theme is Gifts That Keep On Giving!

*****

We all see our birds as special gifts. 'Tis the season to celebrate what your parrot means to you! Please submit a photo or short video of your fid(s) that best illustrates the gift of joy, love, life, laughter, etc that they bring to your life. (No Photoshop this time around, please.)

*****

No more than one entry per member, though you are free to post as many related "just for fun" photos as you'd like.

*****

The winner will receive a Free One Year Premium Membership to Parrot Forums, and the winning photo will be displayed on the Home Page for the following month!

*****

Submissions will be accepted from today, December 1st through Thursday, December 28th. At the conclusion of the submission period, a 3 day poll will be held to determine the winner.

Stephen, I so love that picture of Sweet Bixby.

Looking forward to seeing all the entries this month!

My just for fun entry is Talli, who brings me laughter:)
I have shared this before, but it fits perfectly into this month's theme so I want to share again:)

This is going to be a great month, so ably started by the "for fun" entries!!

Remi and I haven't had as much time together as you folk - but she's already given me many things.

For the purposes of the POTM? She's given me joy.

Joy in watching her grow up, joy in watching her play, joy when she snuggles into my cheek when we're playing computer games, joy when I hear her practicing her big bird words.

Oh, and joy when I can stuff her with food to quieten those baby screeches... :52:

Good luck every body, I love looking through the submissions.

The pic: Watching Remi chatter her to herself in the mirror on a sleepy sunday morning while mum gets to sleep in! (Sleeping in is a joyful exercise, don't you think?!)

I'm gonna submit this slightly blurry photo.
Of Daffy; my eleven year old; disabled budgie. No matter what he goes through he's as sweet as the day I brought him home.

This picture is gorgeous!

Oh, the gifts!!!!
So fabulous to share...
Thanks.
This *IS* gonna be a great month!

Every morning we get an "I love you!" and whenever there's long silent pauses he asks "Are you ok??" If we laugh he laughs with us, if we sing he sings along too.

Can't imagine not hearing his voice everyday and getting to experience his big personality trapped in a little green body.

I can't think of just one thing, so this is the biggest one.

The gift of Love.
My flock has shown so much love during the time I've had them. They taught me to be responsible, helped me socialize, they help me overcome my fears, help me stick to my schedule, they remind me that love comes in all shapes and sizes, they teach me that I don't always have to rush, that I should be gentle, and not always expect the best from them.
There is nothing greater than the gift of love.

Thanks, Terr! That pic of him is very special to me, as he was well into his sickness at that point and yet never stopped being the loving bird you see in that captured moment.

And that video of Talli made me laugh so hard I had to replay it a few times! High comedy!

Hahahahaha! Can't say you're wrong on that one! He probably brags to Maya about how it only took him a few seconds to teach me that trick.

Thank you, Scott! The entries since have been nothing short of incredible so far!

Joy is quite the gift from little Remi! (As is the gift of extra sleep to her mum on a Sunday morning. Nice!) She is absolutely beautiful!

Awesome pic, blurry or no. You can see his determination, somehow. Beneath that sweetness is a strength nothing short of inspirational.

I'm thinking so, too! Looking forward to your and the RB's entry, my friend.

Every morning we get an "I love you!" and whenever there's long silent pauses he asks "Are you ok??" If we laugh he laughs with us, if we sing he sings along too.

I LOVE it! What an appropriate setting! A gift among gifts! He sounds like an amazing bird. And I'm always a sucker for a bird that can speak in-context.

Doesn't get any bigger than the gift of love. And what a great pic! Beautiful flock! It's funny. Sometimes I forget just how tiny budgies are. But your 'tiel looks downright gargantuan next to your 'keet! Hahaha!

Ah! The spoils of victory! Looks like there's some mischief in the offing, here. Lol!

This is Curry. Just last night I turned my back for 5 minutes and Curry flew on top of my refrigerator to go ahead and eat a banana. I walked out into the kitchen to seeing Curry biting through the peel and eating the banana. Curry constantly gives me the gift of laughter in my life and I do not know what I would do without Curry.

My birds give us unending laughter. They're constantly up to something. If you're ever in a bad mood, all you have to do is go sit in the bird room. It won't be long until the belly laughs arrive.

This one's just for fun.

I call this picture
"WORSE THAN A LUMP OF COAL"
This was already in my figurative Christmas stocking when I married the Missus on Christmas Eve many moons ago.
The gift that kept giving.... year..... after year.............after yeeeeeeeear...............
Thanks, honey. Thanks, Bird.

Here's Flower with a little twinkle in the background.

I'm thankful for the gift of sincerity my three show in their expressions. They let me know EXACTLY how they are feeling. They have no hidden agenda. When they are being sweet, they are being genuine. That level of trustworthiness is hard to find elsewhere!
