Hello all!
I just lost my 23 year old Cockatiel this morning... He had been slowing down quite a bit in the last week and everything tested fine at the vet. His little body just gave out I guess.
The night before his passing, a young white pied cockatiel was dropped off at a local post office and then brought here to the animal shelter I work at.
The timing is very weird for sure...
I call him/her Postage for now. trying to come up with a 'clever' mail name for him/her.
Friendly little thing, someone has taught it how to whistle and mimic a car alarm.
After his 72 hour hold here, if it is not claimed I will be officially adopting it.
I'll be skimming the boards to see what new things I can learn about bird keeping namely nutrition. My old bird Farley was on a steady diet of Nutriberries, yogurt bites and high quality pelleted food. never much cared for fresh greens, fruits or sprouts.
