Tonight I watched as Raven and Griffin rummaged through Raven's toy box in his cage. Almost as if Raven said "c'mon Griffin, let's get some toys!" After they emerged from the box, they each carried the toy they had picked out and came to sit at the bottom edge of the door opening with their toys. Raven had a yellow wooden clothespin, and Griffin chose a small purple plastic 'rubber duck' shaped toy. It was adorable!! :) Of course it was not long before the toys were dropped onto the floor...

I didn't manage to get a pic of it, but I got one later with their matching 'nuts and bolts' toys.

I love your birds, Julie! Adorable pic and story! Thank you for sharing. They are such handsome fellows!

Wow, you can really see the size difference in this photo!

I think it's so great that Raven and Griffin get along so well:) They are absolutely adorable!

Awwwww! They're such good mates, your boys, Julie. Wish Dominic would socialise nicely with the Beaks like Raven and Griffin do together. :)

Then there's Robin... He might have been the one who bit Griffin's toenail off a couple months ago. Griffin loves to antagonize Robin. I'm not sure the nail will grow back, it hasn't yet.

Then everyone loves to antagonize poor Twigs :(.

Aww...how cute they are!!! Obviously they like those nuts and bolt toys! I have some of those in my "cart" to order online...hope my fids like them too!

Nice pic and story, Julie! I'll have to get some nut and bolt toys; Raven and Griffin ought to receive royalties in the form of an unlimited supply!!

I love hearing about your birds Julie! Such beautiful boys!

Thank you! :) those two make me laugh everyday. I never become immune to how cute and funny they are!

Your boys are just the most adorable babies ever! I love how well they get along, BFFs:)
Even sharing toys, how sweet is that!

This was what happened to the nuts/bolts I got Sailor-they met an untimely death in under five minutes.
Sorry about the bright glare from the window and also for highjacking your thread-but the topic was the same:

Considering Julie's birds (well, Griffin at least) are not much bigger than Sailor's beak, I'd say 5 minutes for him to destroy the nuts n bolts pretty good:D Sailor is a BIG boy!

Lol, it's not hijacking Tara ;). Sailor does have a VERY large beak!

Little Griffin the Ruppell's parrot is related to Senegals, but he's a lot smaller than a Sennie at only 114 grams on a heavy day :). As small as he is, he is capable of easily chipping the powder coating paint off his newish cage :(.

I really think Griffin was the runt :52: which actually makes him extra cute. The breeder mainly raises the rare Ruppell's parrots for propagation. When someone special orders one as a pet she'll hand feed one. I'm guessing she might have thought 'hm, this guy looks "pet quality" he's so tiny' and then kept the bigger more robust 'specimens' for breeding lol. He sure is huge when it comes to personality that's for sure!

Here's one of the cutie with his more serious look, still partly in juvenile color. ;)

Zoe has the same. We drilled holes in them and put them on a string. She gnaws on them but hasn't destroyed them yet.

Loving the pics of your boys, Julie! It's great that they get along so well, together.

Also love the pic of Sailor, Minimaker! That is a beautiful macaw! And that is one big beak!
