Crusty, red cere on conure

Noticed some crusties on my green cheeked conure's cere and it came off when i scratched it a little. The next day I noticed the same side of the cere a little red and inflamed. It seems to be looking better than when I first noticed it but I'm still worried. What could it be? and should I take him to the vet right away?

Hi Pixeth and welcome to the forum, hard to say from the pic what might be the problem, maybe it was dried blood from an injury, it might be nasal discharge from a respiratory infection or a number of other things, it may be serious or it may not, to be on the safe side I would recomend seeing your Avian Vet as soon as possible, good luck, let us know how you make out
