Sammy's just nuts! I thought I was being clever. I ordered him a SS bucket filled with foot toys to distract him from his obsessive wigwam building. He keeps blocking his doors, then he gets furious when I move his sticks or take them away to be cleaned. I should have known better. He's tossed the foot toys to the four corners of the bird room and he's been using a stick to clang his empty bucket all afternoon. My head's ringing. He is distracted though, right along with the rest of us.

Ha Ha { I can imagine the fun :) } Just got a 8month old Blue Quaker and a Green one thats being weaned . My Blue ones such a sweet guy :)

Terri, how did I miss that? I didn't know you were a quaker parront. I need pics of your blue baby, pretty please. I think the blues are so pretty. I wonder if it's the color, both my green gremlins can be super sweet but when they are bad they are horrid.

Sammy haha. He will NOT be redirected mom! I like those SS buckets, but I can imagine they'd be empty more often than full!

That's the definition of a Quaker parrot. :D Maybe it's time to sign Sammy up for some drum lessons-- sounds like he's got some talent for it. :)

How dare you? Wigwam building is important stuff!!!!

Ah poor Allee, Sammy strikes again. I expect you do have a headache. He sure is an original. Try making a draw string cover for the bucket and see if that works calm the racket down? Love to hear of his exploits, sorry for laughing.

Boom Boom Boom we hear ya Sammy and are joining in with you from Ireland and dancing to the beat of the music :) Peter Pan thinks you Rock and she wants to have a go at making music too :)

Quick! Someone tell me how I can get Jarvis interested in toys and building! I can't get him to play with anything besides me.

So very true, Valerie! Thanks for the reminder!

Speaking of crazy quakers, how are Clyde and Jade doing? How do they feel about their big, beautiful flock mate?

Clyde is the only one who's met him (from a safe distance) and he is not impressed. In fact, I think he's terrified. Rocky lives in the main part of the house, while the little parrots have their own room. I've taken Clyde in to see Rocky a couple of times and he wants to go back to his own room NOW. Rocky doesn't seem to recognize other birds, parrots or not, as his own kind. He's even afraid of the little sparrows at the bird feeder.

Jade is getting more and more tame and now comes right over to sit nearby when I'm in the birds' room. She lets me stroke her beak and she sometimes lands on my shoulder for a moment or two. I long ago decided to let her set the pace and make overtures as she decided to, and not push for more than she was willing to give. If she's happy with a touch-me-not rule, then so am I.
