Nanday Conure
My nanday conure just laid and unfertilized egg, I've had to deal with her eggs before but this one is cracked. I used to leave her egg(s) a few weeks until she became disinterested, then take them and throw them out. I've seen suggestions to use fake eggs but I don't have any and I'm worried about leaving an egg out that could potentially break or leak. Its warm out and I don't want it to get nasty. Any suggestions welcome! Thanks in advance

my first concern is did the egg come out of her cracked or did it fall?

she should have some calcium in her but she may need an extra "hit" of the stuff to prevent binding.

Others will know a lot better than I but maybe trying getting an extra small chicken egg from the store and swapping that in? If anything it could be funny to see her reaction considering the size difference

When I got in last night it was dark, so I don't know if it was laid cracked. I don't think it was, I think it happened this morning sometime. I try to get her some calcium but shes a picky eater

I'd toss it out! Just so that it doesn't leak and get all gross. They can get smelly pretty quick, especially in this summer heat. She may lay again, though. I don't have a chronic egg layer, so Peach will lay a clutch, but I'll toss every single one out when they're busy eating and she'll get the hint to stop. lol.
