This morning i noticed a small red spot on my conure's nail, on the part right before it attaches to her toe. It doesnt seem like it is bothering her. Should I take her to the vet or just keep an eye on it to make sure it doesnt get worse?

Is there an indentation? The nails "quick" has red blood flowing through it, so it's possible she could have banged it up or chewed a piece off almost down to the quick.

If you're concerned, it's never a bad idea to consult an avian vet. I would give them a call first and speak to see if your vet thinks it's worth a visit. The end result would likely either be a patch using a non-toxing bonding glue, or sending you home and saying "watch it, but don't worry about it".

it has no indentation. its just a red spot. i'm not sure if its blood under the nail or maybe she just got stuck, causing her nail to turn red?
