They have perches in that cage that are way more appropriate for 2 conures. Yet they are standing on a tiny sand perch. Why? Just why?

Looks like it’s their preferred/safe spot. I’d swap out that perch with a healthier, natural perch, to avoid foot problems and abrasions. Will save some vet bills.

Your birds are absolutely gorgeous! Loving your cage too, I have one that’s similar…lots of room for toys and perches, my bird loves it. I put a boing on the side, loads of toys, and several metal sundecks so he can climb from top to bottom, he has a lot of fun doing that. Just thought I’d mention it because it doesn’t look like you’re utilizing the bottom portion of your cage. Just something to consider.

Your birds are absolutely gorgeous! Loving your cage too, I have one that’s similar…lots of room for toys and perches, my bird loves it. They fly down there which is why I haven’t utilized the space. If they stop using it for flying I’ll definitely add in some more perches, and toys. I’m actually intrigued that they fly down there to go perch to perch.

The conure cage is a double cage that has a divider (encase I need it). They are in a bedroom right now because we are refinishing our wood flooring.

I was so scared to put them together as I don’t want babies. Their cages were side by side for almost 2 years. They sat next to each other as closely as they could all day long. If I separated the cages they screamed (would contact call) all day long. I felt like a terrible human keeping them apart. I finally did it!!! I let them be together. They are no where near as friendly as they used to be to me. They are 10 times happier. I feel so honored that I was able to witness a bonded pair of any bird in person. I got to watch the whole thing play out

It’s now confirmed that my sun is a male. No need for DNA testing. Now I have the worry of babies. I do adore my parrots, but I do not need more of them. I also don’t want to become a breeder. Too many parrots end up in shelters. It’s just my opinion. I know others may feel differently, and that’s okay.

So I ordered these fake eggs. I’m assuming with all of the mating my conures are doing that eventually my Jenday is going to lay an egg. I’ve removed anything that could be seen as nesting material from the cage that my sun & jenday share.

If anyone has experience with these situations please do help! Thank you so much

Well I guess it was inevitable with those two "lovebirds", wasn't it? I'm waiting for the day when Peachie goes and starts laying, not necessarily cos Lovejoy's actually managed to do the deed (the little rascal!!), but cos Peachie just gets herself so hormonally charged at his roosterliness that she goes and lays an egg anyway! Dummy eggs work pretty well, every time your hen lays one just replace it with the faux one until she finishes laying, and leave them with her until she loses interest, which with her should be sometime after the 3 to 4 weeks it would normally take them to hatch. Up her calcium intake a bit in the meantime too, cuttlebone scraped over her food is helpful and even if she doesn't eat it there's a good chance your rooster will if/when he regurgitates it to her. Not every clutch in the wild hatches successfully anyway so your hen will adjust when this one doesn't. And I wish you the best of luck!!

Oooooooooo he's a territorial little rooster, isn't he??!! I've had an infertile egg-laying cockatiel hen who got VERY angry while she was protecting her (dummy egg) clutch, to the point where she almost bit my then purple-crowned lorikeet rooster's toe off when he got too close. And when my purple-crowned hen Lilly was broody she was hell on wheels until she actually laid her eggs and then she was a placid, blissed out little hen who was perfectly content to sit on her faux eggs for weeks at a time! As far as Lilly was concerned I was her "boyfriend" so she was laying those eggs for me, and she wouldn't eat either so I had to ferry food and water over to her. For a month until she gave up on those eggs. At least you have a rooster to fetch and carry for your hen, and it sounds like he's doing a pretty good job

It's such a drag when our birds decide to start families when we don't want them to. With my budgies I had to put all the girls in one cage and all the boys in another. Not all my budgies, just the group that started and their children. It's the same cage as in your picture but I have a divider in the middle.
Don't give them a box and use the dummy eggs if they lay eggs in a dish or on the cage floor.

I'm having trouble with two of my other budgies right now. They are male and female cagemates for two years and very bonded. Also bonded to me. They are mating a lot and I can't stop it without separating them and they would be very upset. No eggs yet and certainly no box or other tempting spot. I will use my dummies if needed. I'm hoping no eggs result. Is that even possible?
