I am concerned because we just found out our green Cheek conure (pyrrhura) is a female. She is 60 grams, underweight, just-acquired parrot.
We also have a Blue crown conure male (Aratinga). He is 161 grams and just under 3x the size of our new baby.
We want to leave them out of their cages but are concerned.
Also, male is jealous. He is allowed out of his cage. She is not. She just learned to climb back in to her cage from a ladder.
VERY CONCERNED about:
1. Attempted breeding.
2. Jealousy-based attack.
He is a sweet bird but demonstrating jealous behaviors. We monitor them closely at all times we are home & do not let female out of cage when we are gone.
Please advise re potential mating.
