If we have missed any, please post and we will add them to the list:)

Wow, once time I was thinking here should be this list:D You wrote more than I know:)

Lots of them I see for the first time and I have a question about LBC2 and LC2. No one say long billed corella cockatoo (or little corella cockatoo) but long billed cockatoo OR corella so I'm not sure if the aconym is correct. I was trying to find something which I know and there isn't but I'm not able;) I knew a hiacynth macaw as HAM but maybe I was wrong...

We want to give credit where it is due, and weco started an awesome thread like this a few years ago. We just decided to build on his and add in ones that have become more common since his was posted. A huge thanks goes out to him for having this idea and many came from his thread:)

Thanks for this Terry! I was unfamiliar with a lot of these abbreviations when i first joined up so I when I saw the term U2 for the first time I thought they were talking about those four lads from Ireland :)

Your favourite Aussie niece however is feeling a bit left out. Can we add PCL to the list or is she just too rare and obscure??

I included the two cockatoos because they were listed on a cockatoo page as acronyms for them. They may not be commonly used but decided to include them just in case.
I haven't seen HAM short for Hyacinth, but can add it if you are more familiar with that :)

I am a terrible Auntie to Lilly! Of course I added her! She is rare and perfect and absolutely deserves her place:)

I wanna PCL too!:D
I still remember the moments when I was thinking what mean OP, atm, fid etc:D

I noticed there on the list isn't GRP - green rumped parrotlet. I've seen it once time

Thank you Aunty Terry. Her Worshipfulness is appeased ... for now!

Thank you, I just added it!

Thank you Aunty Terry. Her Worshipfulness is appeased ... for now!

My pleasure, please extend my abject apologies (and extra treats) for missing her:(

I know what you missed - this is vey obvious but budgie also is an acronym because the full name is Budgerigar;):D
Also, next to 'too should be "cockie" because in Austalia this is more common used than 'too
Another obvious thing: 'keet=parakeet;)
And I'm not sure if "bourkie" for Bourke's parrots also can be as acronym

I forgot: mac-macaw

I'll add one thing which many people don't know - nearby everybody who says that has a white capped pionus, in real it is white crowned pionus. They are two different species: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White-crowned_parrot and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White-capped_parrot I don't mean to change the name in the list, don't do it, you can only add as a synonym if you want but "white crowned pionus" isn't really used despite it's more correct

Added the other in as they would both have the same acronym. Thank you for the addition!
