1 Yellow Sided Green Cheek Conure: Cody <3
Alright, so today I decided I was going to get a video of Cody taking a bath and post it up here, since he usually LOVES his baths and is really fun to watch. Well, I filled up his bath bowl, put it on the table, and he just looks at it like, "What do you want me to do with THIS?!" I swear, this boy has never turned down a bath! So, what was going to start as a video of him bathing, here are two videos, "Take 1 and 2", of his utter refusal. :p

Here is when I first put him down. I don't know why he's acting like it's a pool of lava, but he finally decides it's not worth it and flies away. :p

Then I try again, and the same result... Silly boy.

Oh, and don't worry, that's not grime in his bowl. It's an old container my mom designated to Cody because it's old and has had a lot of things microwaved up in it, so it's more or less ruined, lol. And we also don't always have a huge table in the middle of the living room, we had steamed crabs (Mmmm) last night and it's just not put away yet.

Cody is so cute, I just want to hug him
Bath time is a "private" thing don't you humans get it
OR
Perhaps it was the "smell" of the steamed crabs from the night before
Look at the bright side, he had a good sip of water and cleaned his tongue :p

I know, he's such a stinker! :p I'm going to try another bath today. I think I may know why he refused it. I have recently been allowing him to take baths in the sink, and I don't think he wants to bathe in a bowl anymore! Every time he hears the water running in the kitchen, he flies in there expecting a bath. :p

That is just toooo funny it looks like he knows you want him to take a bath and hes playing the im not going to take a bath so you can catch it on camera game lol! Such a cutie.

Really? You want him to perform like some trained "animal"? You can't be serious.

my green cheek really likes taking shower with me so when he see's me grab my towel he follows me into the bathroom climbs up on the hamper. and wait's his turn at first i thought it was weird. he only wants to shower every other day or so but he still wants to come in with me. i thought the bowel was a little small and the water was a little deep. who really knows all birds are different. steamed crabs Maryland style?

Nawww he is a real cutie :) Its funny how they can do the same thing all the time, but then one time you want them to do it, they refuse to. At least they have character :)
TYFS.

I would get another bowel for his bath. When plastic gets old it can harbor microorganisms in the many cracks it forms. Not to worry your little guy will take a bath whenever he wants to.

aww thanks for vids, there so funny especially the bowing, was like he was pleading with you, i really don't want a bath! lol

Haha, so cute. Love how it has his name on the side too - I want my own personalised bath! ;)

My guys only like their water bowls for bath time... but only after they've made soup. I've tried taking them to the sink to have a bath but once they set their mind to bathing in the soup they've made there is no convincing them otherwise.
