Coco's beak has been fine and looked normal until a few weeks ago. It looks like he wore off each side of the bottom half too much...the tip looks long and very thin. Is this normal? I just got him a stone perch as he only had wood ones in his cage. Anyone have this happen?

Can u post a picture so we could see what are you talking about and how bad it is?

Here are two pictures. Not sure if his beak should be like this. The last pic is from a month or so ago... ImageUploadedByTapatalk1375399626.326292.jpg

Do you see how thinned out the bottom half is. Should I be doing something?

Chico recently started grinding pine cone pieces in his water and wearing his beak down similarly. The tip of his beak now narrows and comes to a point a little unnaturally. In the next couple of weeks I plan on slowly grinding down and shaping the tip of his beak a little at a time with my Dremel. Looks like you can get a more natural shape by doing the same or take him in for a grooming. Our birds would stop if they wear too much off as I would think there beak would get sensitive.

You could also take the perch away if he continues to groom excessively.

coco;s beak look fine its just how they go depending on what they are chewing on, but his looks perfect in those pics.
