Cockatiels and budgies together?

So i wanted to ask if cockatiels and budgies can live together?
I'd love a budgie at some point! it would be great if they can be together!
I have a few birds including 2 cockatiels who are both fine with other birds, i have a sun conure and GCC as well an IRN. they all get on fine and are pretty chilled. What do you think?

also what are the cage size requirements you recommend for a budgie? All my birds have flight cages. i am at home normally daily so they spend from 9:30am-12pm for a nap and i go on a walk and then at 1pm they are out till about 5:00pm. the days i’m not home or an hour for a few hours i still live with my family who also love birds who let them out their cages so they still have their normal time out!

do budgies tend to be alright with other birds? i’ve had one quaker and one GGC who had were very aggressive to my other birds. my other birds are very chilled with other birds so they don’t mind but i want to know if budgies are alright with other ones

In general budgies are alright with cockatiels. I've heard breeding them together isn't really a good idea 'cause budgies may go into other birds nestbox and kill young birds. I don't have them with cockatiels but I have with a Bourke and everything is ok. The only problem witch I had was when I had a budgie with Bourkes breeding pair - then I didn't know even a single budgie may be dangerous during breeding other parrots

Here's the general rule of thumb. If you get a bird, you have to have the time to care for it in the event that it doesn't get along with your other birds. So, lets say you start seeing jealousy etc--- you may have to give your budgie separate interaction-time/ out-of-cage time from the others. If you do not have the time to do that, then wait until you do .

There are a billion factors that could influence the outcome and far too many to say that your birds will get along (it's impossible to even predict if 2 birds of the same species will get along--let alone 2 different ones...then you have to think about age, hormones, cage size, cage setup, nutrition, sex differences, the behavior of the other bird, their relationship with you, individual personality, the season...the list of influencing factors goes on...)

You should also consider the age of your other birds-- I don't know how old they are, but if they haven't all gone through puberty, that could complicate your life a bit when they do (in terms of their relationships and how well they all get along), because if one bird gets aggressive, that could change the way you have to structure your entire routine (not just with a new bird, but also with the birds you already have). I'm not saying it's GOING to happen, but puberty causes lots of behavior changes in birds, and those sometimes impact their relationships with people and other birds.

You will need to quarantine any new bird carefully away from the others in a separate room for at least 45 days and get them all checked out at the vet, as even healthy birds can spread deadly diseases to others without showing symptoms...so a new one could bring disease in, but your current birds could also make the new bird sick.

A budgie is also VERY small compared to other birds and so you will have to be very mindful---people have had birds lose toes etc for landing on another bird's cage at the wrong time etc. Anytime you add a new bird into the equation, it has the potential to throw off the current dynamic.

Nope budgies and cockatiels don't do well together in a cage. In an aviary where there is way more space they can get along but not in a cage. Female budgies can be nasty and are well known to bite toes off of other budgies as well as cockatiels. In my opinion it's a risky thing to do. From my experience the chances of them getting along together in a cage are low.

Sure there is a chance that they might get along outside of cages but there is just as much chance that they won't get along. I've had budgies and cockatiels together at the same time and from my experience they aren't the best birds to mix together. Budgies are flighty and argumentative little birds that can barely get along with each other. Cockatiels are a lot more chilled out and independent and can find budgies irritating and stressful to be around as mine did.
