Parrots
Female Lutino Cockatiel. Male Pied Cockatiel.
My cockatiels have..."done the deed" many times since Lucy flew away (thanks a lot dad) and they're gonna be parents soon. Of course ill be getting a new cage for the 2 babies I will be keeping, (I didn't even want two more parrots, I just wanted to keep Lucy, thanks again DAD.) and will be selling the other ones, to people who will be good owners ofc. So, id just like some tips for being a future grandma. What should I use to make the nest? Do I need to know anything about cockatiels and their babies? Like do cockatiels reject most babies? Will I have to hand feed some? Basically, give me some good tips. Thanks.

Um I am afraid there is no easy way to say this but I will try.
You are in for a rough and difficult time.
Cockatiels share the incubation between male/female 12 hours on/12 hours off.
I don't know what will happen when only one parent is left.

The parents also share the duty of feeding the chicks.
Very hard on a one parent nest.

I do wish you good luck.

I am not sure if the missing Lucy is a parent cockatiel or another bird.

I would supply lots of food and maybe egg food or baby bird formula for the remaining parent, if Lucy was a parent, or if one of a breeding pair died or was ill. Maybe feed the babies some of the time or supply some heat so the remaining parent could eat and rest?

I appreciate your concern but Lucy is not the father. It is two other cockatiels my dad brought me that are the parents. (I did not ask for these cockatiels)

Sorry, on the left of your post below your name it sounds like you have one male and one female.
I jumped to conclusions.

Yeah I haven't posted anything about Lumi (the father). But I pretty much have two cockatiels now, they are mentioned in my profile.
