clipped wings

I'm sure this has been asked before but I'm not really good at finding old threads yet. But my girl (6 month old female SI Eclectus) when she was about 5 months old a month or so before we got her. I'd love to hear some of the pros and cons of clipping. My husband is against it; of course, I worry about her flying out the door or hurting herself trying to fly. But then again, I also think it's sad that she doesn't really seem to know how to fly and would like to work with her on that. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
