Hahn's macaw, RIP George, Jenday Conure
Just got a whiff of the boing-type perch I have on the front of Hahnzels cage. A bit odiferous is a nice way to put it. The only difference between it and a hanging boing is the ends which have washers and screws instead of a hanger.

Since they are made of the same materials I was curious how you would clean it. There seems to be metal inside so it can be shaped, so I worry about it rusting.

I put mine in a pillowcase and wash it in the regular laundry with unscented clothes detergent. I put vinegar in the rinse cycle. Then I hang it to dry. Some people put them in the dishwasher, but I use that for perches only.

I run mine over extremely hot water in the tub turning it. Then i take some birdie safe cleaner and spot clean and rinse any spots that did not come clean. Then i hang it shower to dry. Last time i hung it from the soap holder that goes over the shower, i thought gee a new way to hang a perch for the birds lol.

pressure wash it

I did the pillowcase. However, I didnt tie the top good enough so they wound up being half in half out. Clean now though.
