- Ciry, Kira - B&G
Hey guys ! Just wanted to let you guys know how we are doing and stuff, post a couple of photos. So we recently celebrated Ciry's first birthday, yes! She got tons of stuff, obviously . We really stopped free-flighting with her, because I just think she doesnt like, and I dont want to force her really. Besides, she always liked more playing at home. So we just go for a walk from time to time, usually with a harness (cause we go into public). So thats that. We also visited avian vet in my home town, and she recommended us to buy Harrison's High Coarse pellets and a ?Sunshine factor - something? for vitamins and stuff (I dont really remember) because we had some issues with her beak and nails being in a little bad shape. Also her moult took a very long time.
Flying outside:
We are now learning 2 new tricks - wings up and hide (guess where my inspiration comes from :54: ) In the past months I just cannot get her attention while training (I tried a few sessions of "fetch", but she was more interested in the ball than the treat LOL). Hope it will get better, she is really quick learner so far.
She also started to pressure quite hard with her beak - I dont mean biting, she wouldnt do that, it is more like nipping and chewing too hard. I have been working on this for the last month or two, but with no success. Tried beak grasping and other stuff. Guess she is just too excited 24/7 I am also a little bit worried about eating. We just started to go to university (early in the morning) - I always prepare food fer her and put it in her cage. But almost everytime (like 95%) when I come back home for lunch (at around 12pm) the bowls are still full and her crop empty, but she looks just happy as ever. When she is out she eats just normally.
Lastly, I noticed when I was in contact with other B&G, that Ciry has really weird feathers under her wing. All others macaws that I saw had normal feather there, but she has just a few long unes, and under them that normal grey "fur " and then the normal blue feathers on her back. Here is a picture.
Don't know what else to talk about, if I come up with anything, I will post a reply, or edit this post
Thanks a lot for reading, pictures are in next post !
