Hello :) I have a male cockatiel named Kiko.

Can someone please recommend good veggies to put in chop for him? I am trying to get him to eat veggies everyday which he doesnā€™t do. He is very picky!! He gets scared of foods that are too colourful. He does like to munch on spinach leaves and oregano sometimes.

Also, how many veggies should be in a chop?

Thanks to anyone who replies šŸ’—

My tiels eat most veggies, as long as they are in very small pieces.
Iā€™d say try and get as many veggies as you can, I usually use 10-12.
Chopping them up in the NutriBullet works great to get it fine enough.
You could use a food processor too.
I also mix sprouts in, the tiels really like sprouted quinoa.
You could try mixing ground flaxseed into the veg, as it gives it a nutty flavor.

Are there any specific type of veggies that should NOT be fed or any with not a lot of nutritional values?

I wouldnā€™t feed spinach every day, itā€™s high in oxalate which, in excess, can cause your bird to have a harder time absorbing calcium.
I canā€™t think of any with little nutritional value but nutritional powerhouse fruit and veg include, dragonfruit, pomegranate, Swiss chard, and butternut squash.
