Chirping egg

I picked up one of the cockatiel eggs momma has been sitting on and it was chirping. Do we need to do anything or will the baby break thru on its own? Just want to make sure it is okay and doesn't need any help getting out. The "parents" are a female cockatiel and a white parakeet. This egg was laid by our other female cockatiel who had no interest in sitting on the egg. It will be raised by it's foster parents. SO EXCITED!!

GREAT NEWS 6/13/08: WE HAVE A NEW BABY...HE/SHE HATCHED ON THEIR OWN AROUND 6AM THIS MORNING.......YEAH!!

Theres nothing quite so magical as a pipping egg. My sweet Spot used to sing to his pipping eggs.
I hope everything went well.
It takes twentyfour to fortyeight hours for a chick to hatch. Premature intervention can be leathal.
The best thing you can do for your birds when hatching is expected is to provide the parents with an appealing looking bath dish. If they prefer to bathe in the water dish, change it several times a day. That will allow the humidity to be raised for the hatching eggs. Dont go spraying the eggs themselves. The parent birds have an inherent sense about these things, they will increase the humidity by bathing and then incubating while still wet.
