You could attach 2 pieces of "C" angle metal to the bottom of the 2 lips to just slide the tray in

Like this [ ------- ] <-angle metal ("-------" is tray)

Joe, I might have to do this mod because this morning she had poop all over the edge of her tail (even though I raised her perch UP).... So guess who's getting a bath today?! LOL.

I **really** like this cage, but with all these modifications we're doing it's like "why didn't THEY just make it this way?!" *sigh*

I figured if you were to go on a trip with her in the cage for an extended period of time the poo poo would really start to build up

The tray mod will be really easy to do, BUT putting a grate on the bottom of the cage is going to be harder, I have an idea, look for a stainless steel barbecue grill grate!!

Two things

1) will the tray fit under the cage in between the cage legs?

If not you could jut mount the stainless steel barbecue grill grate right above the tray just high enough to keep her out of the poo
(you would have to make it removable to be able to clean the tray, this would be an easier way of doing it since the tray mod could just stay the same)

2) what is the measurements in the picture below and I' try to start looking for a stainless steel barbecue grill grate to save DadCo some time :D

It may be a slight pain in the butt, but it will be worth it in the (rear) end :D
(I said Butt Butt )

The problem is that even with ONE poop it makes a mess because she walks around in it [emoji51] and it's a disaster with overnight poops and then the morning bomb lol

The tray will fit in between the cage legs, so we could do that and then make a grate to fit where the tray goes now and use the existing holes to secure it.

I think we **might** have a SS BBQ grill we could use, otherwise it might be worth another trip to the hardware store to see what they have.

Well, this is my temporary fix for nights- I took the grate out of one of the budgie cages I no longer use, cut a small piece out of the edge so it'd slide past the center bar on the back panel, and the door holds it in place when it's shut... So we'll see in the morning how this works

WOW,

That looks good enough to be a permanent fix!!
Would you consider just using that?

GREAT Job !!

Nite Nite (not going to tell you the east coast time right now  (Major Yawn)
