Hello everyone!,hope you are all well and had a great Christmas and new year.
So I have decided I want to help the community and do a fundraiser for the RSPCA as they do such a fantastic job and I would love to be a part of it, as a 14 year old I don't have any ideas please would someone be able to think of a few ,all profits will go to the RSPCA also after I have a few ideas I will make a poll thanks a lot, all the best for 2012 xx

Spaghetti dinners seem to go over well in my area. However you would need to round up enough people to help cook and serve. And find a place that will let you use their facilities. Volunteer fire departments may be willing to allow you to use theirs.

What about a donation drive? Of course you would have to speak with your local rspca first, but you could collect much needed supplies, food, towels, kitty litter, toys, monetary donations, etc.

Forgot to add, as long as you clear it with your local rspca, you could set up donation drop off points at local business, pet stores and feed stores are great places. Just talk to the business owner and tell them that you are collecting donations for the shelter and see if they will give you a little spot where you could place a pallet and a sign, include a list of needed items and just let people come in and drop things off. Of course, you would have to make arrangements with the businesses and the shelter, and you would have to make arrangements to pick these things up as well.

it really depends how big you want to do it, also its just after xmas, so ask ppl for all there un-wanted xmas gifts
toiletrie sets etc all end up where i work, as that goes to residents funds, you could then raffle them off, tombola or auction (but you will need to do this within the laws set for such events, also if there are alcholic gifts)

inform your RSPCA and ask permisson 1st, since you are at school, could you not involve the school and set the venue there?

by involving the school, you would get the word out, and if only quarter of your school donates 1 item, that would be a huge help for the RSPCA (also if they do you will need a secure storage place)

when you have permissions event it on face book, your local rspca may already have a page


local businesses are also good, but the ploy is, the event needs to be publicised and the selling point to the businesses that when they donate they will be thanked for helping on a after event news letter, this is a win win method, you get a donation, business gets advertising, but do not offer this if you cannot do an after event new letter etc and do not be supprised if some businesses ask how new letter will be circulated etc

also home made cakes are a really good seller!

Thanks everyone for you replies all of your ideas are fantastic I'm sure we could raise a lot of money, so I have found a few locals who would be willing to donate and help so i just need to ask permission from the RSPCA also I'm sure my friends at school would be able to spare some loose change speak soon x
