Cereal bow foraging toys

Is it ok to use cereal boxes to make toys out of? I know our CAG loves to destroy cardboard, but I wasn't sure if cereal boxes were ok because of the printing on them.

I give my bird boxes, but watch out for the glue, I prefer to buy regular fold together packaging boxes at walmart they have no ink, staples or glue on them
