I will be getting my carpet cleaned on Monday. I will be moving Kiwi to the Kitchen, however its only a few feet away from a carpeted area. I can put her outside for a little bit but she is not really use to being outside and gets scared. I was wondering if it can be deadly to her? Please let me know. Thanks

Call the cleaning company & ask them what the trade name & manufacturer of their soap solution is, then look up the MSDS (material safety data sheet) on the product.....they should be available on the internet, if you can't find one for their solution, tell your cleaning company you need one to research prior to their using the product at your home.

Some cleaning companies use plain water, because of customers griping about the residue left in the carpet, but may use an air freshener.....and MSDS for that needs to be checked also.

You DO NOT WANT any stain guard/preventer.....similarly, stain guard and/or fire proofing of furniture or clothing is dangerous for & can be deadly for our feathered friends.....

I agree with weco. And then when you do get the carpet cleaned, place Kiwi outside and mostly cover the cage (if not completely) and of course keep an eye out :)
It would be a good idea to run fans and open up the house for several hours after the cleaning.

Thank you! MrsKay I live in south florida, it's VERY hot here and kiwi is not used it the heat. Should I still cover her?

If it's super hot, then I would get one of those misters. They are cheap, and just set it up next to the cage.
