- Parrots
- Sunny a female B&G macaw;
Japie (m) & Appie (f), both are congo african grey;
All are rescues- had to leave their previous homes for 'reasons', are still in contact with them :)
There is always cardboard...macaws are born shredders/woodchippers.
(just make sure there are no staples in them and they have not been sprayed/ gassed with insecticides lately... stick to the boring brown ones to avoid foodpoisening by toxic ink -> they may not eat it but they will chew and chew and chew)
Mine just grabbed the curtains (again)- appearently the latest batch of willow is not to her taste...
Best of luck @ the CAV.
The first time is always horrendously expensive because of all the (PBFD, PDD etc.) tests they do / just for your own peace of mind add the psittacose-swab as wel? Since that is the about the only one that can infect humans as well -> I buy the tests directly from the lab, they have a 'test it all-parrots'-option that is a LOT cheaper than all the individual tests...even my experienced CAV's did not know this! Overhere they always include DNAtesting as well.)
