Here in New Zealand we are experiencing a huge amount of earthquakes in Christchurch. The first earthquake was in september, and since then there have been over 200 more, with 170 people dead, and 6 of those earthquakes today, from 3.5 up to 6. The emotional toll is HUGE on the city of christchurch and the rest of the country. On top of all these, christchurch bird rescue is having to work doubly hard as birds are absolutely spooked by the seisemic activity and are reacting in strange ways to the stress. HAs anyone heard of this kind of thing happening? Can the birds sense the seismic activity or is it more they can sense the high stress of their owners? Anyone in new zealand who can foster birds are encouraged to contact Christchurch RSPCA, as owners are having to give up their beloved pets because they are now homeless with nowhere to keep them. Please help if you can!
