can someone please help these macaws!

good luck, if she doesn't work out let me know, I would consider taking her if we could fly her out.

I think you will! Just be careful with Amigo, since he thinks you're his lover. He may become a little more violent with 'competition' around. I hope everything goes well with the visit (it seems so long away, :()

Mare - This bird looks beautiful, but the conditions are terrible. Some people have no compassion for other living things aside from themselves. Please help :(

4-5hr. drive is nothing, for me...for the bird? Don't know. I just spoke with my daughter, who is working on rehome-ing a beautiful 8yr. old quarter horse mare, 5yrs. under a cutting horse trainer. She wants to bring the mare here. My daughter doesn't have the room for a horse at her place. She wants to turn this mare into a trail horse, the owner wants to just give this mare to her, the owner is a client of my daughters, (massage therapist), and feels she has lost her passion and is feeling too old to be right for this mare. Anywaaay...what I was getting at is...I'm going to trade with my daughter. She drives with me to LA, to rescue this bird, I will help her bring this mare to my home and help with feeding and pen cleaning when she isn't here. Sounds fair to me. Next step...bringing up the subject to my husband...may be some road blocks there. I'm a pretty good sweet talker, though. I'm gonna keep the faith!

Thank you so much for doing this Mare. I knew if I posted this ad someone would help this poor bird. I would have taken her but my parents would freak if I got a macaw. I cant begin to tell you how happy it makes me that someone is going to save this beautiful macaw.

Just use the line all of my friends have used for years..... Tell him, "We can do this the easy way......Or I can call Tammy" Anyone that has ever known me has always readily agreed to the Easy Way!:D

My husband is going to try and freak, I'm pretty sure...but he's developed a real love for Amigo and he knows how happy Amigo makes me, sooo, I'm confident that all will be well.

With a little research, I'm thinking this bird is a scarlet macaw? She sure is a beauty, and I'm hoping we work out.

Yes she is a beautiful scarlet macaw. Scarlets have the yellow on their wings and no lines of facial hair around their eyes and green wings have green on their wings and lines of facial hair around their eyes.

Yes, for sure scarlet. A pretty one at that, which I am surpised with from the look of the cage. I would expect ruffled feathers or broken tail feathers. She looks good in the pics

Yeah that's what I thought. I cant believe she doesn't have feather problems, I mean she has a tiny cage, and it's disgusting!

I called again on the scarlet macaw, to get directions and set up a time to meet the bird...she sold yesterday, I'm bummed, I was getting very excited,,I had her a cage ready and was looking forward to bringing her home. I'm happy she's out of that home and I can only hope that who ever took her will give her a good life.

I won't give up, I know there is a bird out there waiting for me to help him/her out!

Aw I'm sorry Mare, I could tell you were looking forward to getting her. But lets hope she has a good home now. I just glad she is out of that place.

If you're interested, there is an African grey that needs a home. He's living in a small filthy cage in southern California. :-/ I posted the ad earlier.

Yes you should look into that, I tried to convince my parents to let me adopt him but they were like, " oh but what about your school work", and I assured them that I didn't know what they were talking about, I don't do my school work.lol.

Hi, I am new to all of this so bear with me if I post wrong. I would love to adopt this baby, would it be hard to get her to Florida? I have a very friendly african grey (that never stops talking!) that is great with other birds. I am caring for a friend's macaw until she gets out of the hospital and we all love her alot. Screaming okay because we had adopted an older cocatoo that we loved for 15 years and miss her lots boy did she have lungs ha. We live in the country so no neighbors to complain. I just hope she can find a forever home soon.

It says a few posts back that the macaw has found a home. :)
