Can I prevent my pair of caiques from breeding ??

I have a male and female caique (Basil and Maple). The breeder told me that if I didn't want them to breed I just had to make sure I didn't give them a nesting box.!is this correct as I don't want them to breed!
Any advice appreciated

They will try to breed with or without a nest box. IF you don't want them to breed, separate them in different cages.
