I have amazons, conures, a cockatoo, a Meyers and a lovebird. I just went and got some bamboo to make them some toys. Can they have it still green? What about the leaves on it?
Also, I throw out their ""used"" seed for the pigeons, yardbirds, etc. Some has sprouted. Can the have the sprouts. I don't really know what is what but assume it's safe since the seed is safe???
Thanks

Seeds are ok but not after being out with the "pigeons" or other wild birds. You can sprout the same seed mix you feed. They won't all sprout at the same rate but it works if you have fresh seed mix. Bamboo,,, there's about 2,000 different kinds . I'd think it would be OK dried, but leaves or "green" might take more research. Bamboo is more of a Asian plant and your birds are mostly New World birds, two different worlds.( not something your fids would encounter in their native habitat)

Thank you. I'll wait for the bamboo to dry. Unfortunately, I don't know what kind it is, nor how to tell.
