Hi Everyone!

I have just found this awesome group on YouTube that feature clips of wild birds, strictly for your birds!!

I played them to my Pionus and he started to sleep a little and sometimes made noises back! It's wonderful!!

There is a link on their group page that takes you to where you can purchase the whole 80 minutes of nothing but birds in the wild. I am honestly thinking about purchasing it! It would be great for people who have to go out to work most of the day, or like me, have school, and dont want our birds to be lonely. Sometimes, even I will watch the clips, just watching those wild macaws, african greys, and even parakeets!! It is a great idea and I think your birds will enjoy it as much as mine did!! Here is the group page...

They also have a few videos regarding wild bird trade and its effects.

Thanks everyone!

Fantastic link, my AG Mishka, tries to imitate the sounds, its hilarious.
Wonderful to see all the birds in the wild.
Thanks for sharing :blue1:

Hahaha, thats great!! I know, seeing all those birds gathering at the clay wall, and foraging on the ground is a sight to see. I only wish to see them in person in the wild, that would be cool!

Great to hear that your bird likes it too!

Oh!! Also, for anyone out there that used the link and liked the videos, I also purchased some nature sounds from iTunes and they are great!! You dont get the parrots like the videos :( But it gives the same effect! I was cleaning in the other room and had my nature sounds playing to a Tropical Jungle and I hear Claude make noises I have never heard him make before!! It was almost like he thought he was in the jungle and needed to make sounds like the paradise birds were hahaha. They are very cheap, only $.99 and so far they are so worth it! There is also some guy named Victor and his album is Sounds of Nature and I found quite an array of bird sounds! I bought one of a bunch of parakeets making noises, and even, what sounds like a macaw doing what macaws do best!

How did I miss this one? It is a fantastic link. Thank you so much. I wish all our wild parrots to stay wild. It's some people that think $$$ is more important than our natural world. OK enough of my soapbox.

I know what you mean! When I saw those videos, it just made me look at parrots in a whole new light. Just knowing that parrots are wild animals, they truly arent domesticated. They dont pull wagons or anything. We just have to find a way to understand them, not to take away their spirit. They are truly remarkable animals. The fact that they let us do crazy things with them and, well, they seem to like it haha, just amazes me. I love animals hahaha.

Good for you Claude. We need more animal lovers in this world. Sometimes I think of the wildness that is not experienced by our companion birds and wonder if instinct makes them miss all the wonders of the wild outdoors.
