Hi all,
My caique who is almost one, is starting to change if you would say? I was just wondering if it is around time of their hormonal stage ?

Thank you.

One year old sounds a little to young to me for a caique to be getting hormonal. I only have experience with a green cheek, but he got TERRIBLY hormonal around the age of 2 and a half to 3. If your caique is also undergoing a big moult that is likely to be a source of great irritation as well as a big energy drain to grow all those new feathers.

I could of course be completely wrong about this so I am quite prepared to be put in my place by a much wiser head! But I think it's more likely just a bit of "terrible twos" toddler type behaviour.

Maybe she is too young but i thought it was worth asking

I think they all go through personality changes as they mature. You just have to go with the flow. Parrots love drama, so don't let him see you get upset. Make sure you offer plenty of water for bathing. Molting birds love to take baths. I think it's soothing to those itchy pin feathers.
