I have been away from my baby for 2 weeks and noticed how much he has grown, he has out-grown his cage. Those tail feather are absolutely beautiful but HOLY are they big!

So, my already spoilt little brat is getting a new cage.

Are there any recommendations on a particular cage to buy? What cages do you have for your little green chewing machines?

Bundii has a cage that has mostly horizontal bars as it is easier to climb on. It is about 1200 x 900 x 600mm. Plenty of room for tail feathers. It also has a fold down door at the front which is like a little patio for her to hang out on. It also has plenty of room for toys, etc. also high enough for her happy hut to hang from.

i posted a pic below of my cage (please excuse the mess and lack of toys atm, am in middle of making more and cleaning).

its 130cm high at highest point x 70cm deep x 93cm wide.

the top section is 49cm wide x 70cm deep

when i look at those measurements it just doesnt seem right, they seem to small but i have all 3 of my babies in that cage, 2 are mature males and they have plenty of room and love it.

i purchased it off ebay, brand new for i think $180 plus shipping.

Thanks Amanda! That was the cage I had my eye on. That's great, It'll definitely be big enough for Floyd.

your welcome camille. if it is the same cage from ebay, it does have a few minor problems (wel mine did). the handles for the catchers dont fit properly, and the grate for the play gym areabdoesnt sit properly on the tray as there is no rail. i have the tray on top of the grate so i can use tge bars to hang things on the inside.

I am not sure if that cage is prevue or not it looks a little different than the one we had but it was horrible to clean. Ours had little hearts around the top so i think the cage above is different. Normally prevue is easy to clean but you had to pretty much crawl inside to clean it. I think they may be now making the prevue cage like this one with a door on the end. If you go with prevue which i think is main maker of this style i would make sure it has the door on the end as i believe there is an old and new style of the cage.

Woohoo Cage arrived today and is all assembled :) looks fantastic! What a difference it makes.

Floyd became excited as soon as my boyfriend carried the flat pack upstairs. He was going silly and couldn't wait to climb all over it (which was particularly annoying when your trying to put a cage together).

Loving the bubble wrap

Hopefully by using his old cage as a sleep cage, his cage aggression will decrease.

Also, can anyone tell me where this piece goes?

The cage didn't come with instructions which made it difficult. Only this and a couple of screws were left over. We still need to put the guard around the bottom but my stomach was grumbling and it was time to cook some dinner.

That looks like a great cage, we're thinking of getting one just like it.

Floyds tail feathers are so long, tango always chews his off poor little guy

Great looking bird! Hope floyd likes his new cage, have you seen any improvement in the agression issues?
