I have a Rosy Bourkes Parakeet named Rosewind!

gotcha date: 2/7/2025
hatchdate: idk yet, will update but she just a baby frfr
Hi! I just got a Bourkes parakeet/parrot and shes wonderful!

I hope this is the right place to post this!

right now i have my new girl set up in a 31” long cage that seems to fit her well but i was wondering if anyone knew of any cage that was designed for small birds but is around 47-50 inches long. not tall, any reasonable height is fine. it *can* be that tall too, but id like something as long as my space will allow as my research has shown that bourkes prefer to fly horizontally, not vertical. also it canot have more than 21.5 inches in depth please. if anyone knows of a cage that fits these parameters if it exista, or if not how to build one myself (im decently crafty) would be much appreciated!

Thank you for taking the time to read and respond to this post!

below is the amazon listing for the cage she is currently in. i dont think she needs to be moved now or soon, but eventually i would like to give her more room

please no unprompted advice! ask first!

my pronouns are they/them, Rosewind uses any as i do not know her sex but she appears to be female based on feathering, will update my page when dna test comes in

There arent may optoo s for what youre looking for. Pawhut makes a double sized cage with a removable divider that's about 60" long, 19" deep and about 32" high- essentially twice the size of your cafe- and its awesome. Cones with stand. I have one.
Amazon sells a double sized 48" x 16" x about 30" one with a divider that's also great.

thank you so much! do you have a link or like a key word i could use to find these cages? i reallly cannot find them, or at least the amazon one, on my own

Sure. Search for double flight cage on Amazon. Both the Pawhut and the smaller one come up a few products down. I totally agree with the need for this size and shape cage for small birds so they can actually fly. Quality is quite good for the money.
