Duskies: Gizmo & Niko, hatched 3/12 & 5/12; pineapple GCC: Skittles, 5/10/13; Pan Am: Harley, 1/27/13; CAG: Maalik, 7/27/13; Eclectus: Ziggy, 4/4/04; BHC: Walter 6 y; baby Jardine's: Bogart-May!
Until now, my duskies have always been housed separately. Whenever they're out together they like to hang around each other. Their behavior towards each other is a combination of preaning and a beak fencing squabble. Whenever their brief squabble is over, they return to preaning. To date they've never hurt each other.

I'm considering trying them out together, but don't want their little squabbles to end up with one of them getting hurt. I don't know their sexes, although my suspicion is that they're one of each.

Would it be worth a try? There really isn't a need for me to house them together. I'm considering it because they seem to like to hang out together whenever they can.

Is is a squabble? Or are they just beak wrestling and feeding one another? The latter would be affection.

Good question. I guess you could call it beak wrestling followed by preaning and tonguing each other's mouths.

That sounds like my house. I had my sun and green check together for a year until Apollo started to get a little ruff with her and guard the food. They use to sleep together in the same happy hut and preen each other. I think when they reached maturity he needed some space (they are 1 month apart). They are fine when they are out playing just not in a cage.

I think it would be ok to try it, but keep a close eye on them. How old are they?

Gizmo's 2 this month, and Niko's going to be 2 in May.
