Hi Guys
Rosie does not want to come out of her cage?
She has bonded very strongly with my father and only wants to come out when he is at home and just ignors me unless I'm eating.
She now about 6months old already and seems to be going through the naughty hormonal teenage stage already but I believe she is still too young. She is going through a major moult at the moment.
When I go to get her out of her cage she refuses to step up on my hand and just runs to the other side of the cage. If I try to pick her up she will screech she does not bite hard but gives me a nip, however this is getting worse.
She has lots of toys and perches in her cage and I'm wondering if she likes it too much.
If I just leave her door open often she won't come out she is happy to just sit there all day. When she is out she soon seems to want to go back in.
As far as I'm aware nothing bad has happened to her out of her cage and I have always been very gentle handling her.

Please help

Molting is a dangerous time for a bird in the wild. She may feel safe in her cage. I would not worry to much and see what happens after she comes out of this molt.
