RIP Constantine: Jenday Conure
Every time I take Con off his cage, all he wants to do is go back on or sit on my shoulder. He acts nervous when he's away from either and I was wondering what's going on with him. I've had him for a week now so he's got to be use to my room by now. Should I use a T-Stand when I move him and for training purposes?

He has a playground but when I put him on it, he freaks and spends the entire time trying to get back to me even if I'm a foot away.

Thanks for all your help so far everyone! I really appreciate it :)

Some birds are afraid of new things. Or does not like to be anywhere else but near you. My Lory is like that....He hops off the cage and come looking for us, he won't play on his play stand, just hops off and run towards me like little puppy dog...lol...But he plays really nice in his cage where he's got lots of toys...

You've had him for one week... Birds takes Months/Years to get comfortable in a new home...

Give him time... Birds are very afraid of new things... they could react to the colour of your shirt, if they haven't seen that colour before...

Patience...;)

Give him more time. They are very intelligent, and it takes a while to get used to things.

Puck was kind of like that when I first got him, and would freak out if I left his sight. Now he's pretty good about it, but it took a few months.

You guys are right. Con is my first parrot so this is a huge learning experience for the both of us. We'll just take this a day at a time. Thanks all the help :)
