Ok so I'm looking for a new cage for Punky. (The one shes in would technically be fine, but I'd like bigger ;) )

I've found this one which is just under my budget but the main thing I'm not sure about is the bar spacing...

uploadfromtaptalk1368578035599.jpg

It's 162cm high x 76cm wide x 76cm deep, but the bar spacing is only 1cm with the bars 2mm thick... is she just going to chew through it?
They also sell the exact same thing but 2cm spacing and 4mm thick - but its twice the price :/

And also, I bought Tonks' cage online which SOUNDED big, but in reality is not that big at all - am I going to have the same problem with this one?

Opinions would be MUCH appreciated!!

I love to get big card board boxes and cut out the cage size and put it together so I know how big and will it fit!

Ahhh i have basically the exact same style, just alot bigger ;) (185cm x 155cm x 123cm) haha

Fargo's wire thickness is only 4mm, but he hasnt made a dint in anything

I got mine on ebay, and its great! Fargo loves it!

I agree with making the size out of cardboard... I measured the cage too see how big it would be, but it actually turned out ALOT bigger in real life haha

Will do the box thing and see how I go :)

Copper, does Rosie use the bottom of her cage much?

The cage above, I've worked out is pretty much the same size as my lovebirds cage, except mine isn't a corner cage. The cage Punky is in at the moment is the same just not as tall (about 2/3's)

Just can't work out whether its worth it just for a bit of extra height :/ so I can either leave her as she is, or save for a bit longer and get one the same as Tabs...

Arrghhh shopping for cages is hard :(

Rosie didn't at first but now she does sometimes, I don't encourage or discourage her to do so though(I also don't use the grate, so when she does go down she's walking on the paper)

I'm really happy with Rosie's cage size and think it's great for a galah sized bird, it was $219($240 with CA sales tax) on ebay. It's 36 wide, 27 deep, 68 tall.

This is a Chinese brand cage and is available around the world, so you may be able to find a similar cage in Australia.

Ok thanks, cheapest I can find that one is $280 - which technically is fine but $80 of that is postage lol, which just seems a shame when for $300 (without postage), I can get the same as Tabs cage...

Right now I'm thinking I'll wait a while, and hopefully be able to find a cheaper one (or one I can pick up rather than have shipped)...

Thanks for all the help :)
