hi everyone , when I went to breeder to buy my first pet bird (irn) he had new in a box cages for sell . over the last 5 years my flock has grown and started breeding some of my birds.people always ask if i have cages for sell

so my question is if any one knows where the buy the cages for cheap??

Have you tried Craigslist? Alot of people post them on there. Good Luck!

Do you know the brand and/or style of cage? Have a picture?

Cages are available all over online. Birdcages4less.com has a nice selection of affordable cages and you could always direct your buyers to a site like that and have a recommended cage to suit the species so they don't have to worry about if the cage their buying is a proper size, bar spacing etc... (if you just want to match buyers up with suitable cages for your babies).

If you intend to buy cages wholesale and resell for a profit, you would need to talk to a cage manufacturer and set up a wholesale account. This typically requires a valid business license to do so, and some manufacturers may have minimum order requirements (for example, you would have to order 10 or more cages at once to get the wholesale pricing kinda thing).

You can look at amazon also. With prime a lot of the cages come in 1-2 days and then you can sell them for either what you paid or if you want a profit you would still be competitive with bird stores.

There were a couple bird cages in Petco/Petsmart and other bird stores in my area and I went and found the exact one on Amazon sometimes up to half price. You can look at Petco/Petsmart online and they have sales every once in awhile. Just wait for a sale to hit and you can buy a few then sale them for less then the store is selling them for and still make a profit.

I found a couple of cages in rough shape (rust/bent bars/missing wheels/etc.) and ended up redoing mine, ended up buying a $500ish dollar cage and spent about $220ish after the price of the cage and the materials to redo it. I just had a heck of a time finding paints and such that don't harm birds, and let it dry and sit for a couple weeks before I got my bird.

I have a small business and involves custom items for cages and have a business license. A&E grabbed me an account to purchased wholesale. If you know you're going to Breed you could apply for a federal EIN which is a federal tax ID for business. After getting that you could apply at A&E for an account. Since you know you'll need multiple cages, maybe they'd with you on pricing.

Depending on where you live, there is a distributor in the ny jersey area that has inane prices on warehouses leftovers!
