I believe Parrot University is the place that designed the Aviator Harness.
You can try contacting them and seeing if A) there are any local vendors near you or B) if they are willing to ship overseas.

Yes, parrot university is a safe site. This is where they developed the harness. I am about to bring home my greenwing and have been putting it on him when I visit. It is a great harness, you will be very happy with it!

I'll try to email them earlier today and the respond was fast and positive.
My local stores have the Aviator Harness, but the price is almost twice that much. All that kind of stuff to birds are very expensive here in Sweden.

Ah, I see! I hope you love the harness! I've got one myself, although I'm not a very big fan of it. It's a good harness, don't get me wrong! But my conure isn't wholy acceptable on the idea of the harness, less so over a cheaper brand. It's just the way it goes on/off as compared to others, and that's the only downside I've noticed. If you can get your bird to accept it, it would be great harness!

I not sure that I will use it so much, but first I need it so I can train.
Perhaps next summer if Eloy accept it. If he doesn't like it, he don't need to ware it. He is not that tame yet so I can lift his wings so we take it slowly.
I had the Aviator to another parrot (a parrot I rescued) but she hate the Aviator. I guess the had been forced to ware it. (and some other really bad things)

Just because a parrot hates/is afraid of something doesn't mean they had a bad experience with it in the past... it just means that they don't like the object, even if said object might have been something they previously loved.

Best of luck with the harness. I SO wish Niko would have accepted it, but instead I learned what a frightened Macaw can do with his beak. I had bought the harness ahead of time, took it to Niko's breeder and kindly asked her to get him used to it. Well, she never did.
I took it SO slow when trying to acclimate him to the harness. He loved playing with it, but the moment it went over his head all bets were off.
And after that he never even touched it again. I tried for months, to no avail. Oh well... such is life.

JerseyWendy, did you ever try getting Niko to put his head through the harness rather than putting the harness yourself over his head? Such as putting a treat on the other side of the harness?
What about using your index and thumb fingers, making a circle, and placing your hands over his head to get him used to the concept? And doing so also around the wings, lifting them, moving them, etc?

Monica, yes, I can grab Niko around the neck (gees...that doesn't sound right ). I can lift his wings, too.
As a matter of fact HE put the harness over his own head when I was trying to get him used to it, but as soon as he felt it hit his feathers and he realized it wasn't coming off by shaking, he went berserk.

I know that the DVD did mention draping the harness over them and underneath the wings... but I guess short of trying another color (don't know what one you got, but black, blue or yellow might be good choices?), sounds like he'd be quite difficult to retrain to accept the harness! Sorry to hear that!
With Charlie, I didn't train him... I just stuck the harness on him and took him outside! At first, I was using Feather Tether harnesses, and I've got two of them... but seem to have lost them in the move... so bought an aviator afterwards. He was about 11 years old when he first got to wear a harness, and he'd pick at it constantly at first, but learned to accept it. However, he'll only accept wearing it while we are outside. Once inside, he wants it off, and he wants it off *NOW!*. Distracting only goes so far before he's back at trying to remove it! It's typically easier to get on than it is to get it back off!

And sorry to hear that Niko doesn't like the Aviator. I'm really scared of getting bite (hard) so I'm glad that I only have a "small" Pionus.
But of course I hope I have better luck.
