Bump on GCC chest?

Hello, I have a vet appointment next Monday as thats the quickest I could get in but I have a question about my new green cheek conure.
We adopted her about 2 weeks ago and she's been great. Playing, eating, super active and cuddly! Today when I was playing with her I noticed a little bump close to her crop. It's on her abdomin close to her bone, it's a small bump, and almost looks like a human wart except it's hard. It's hard to the touch, fleshy colored, and she is showing no sign of discomfort when we touch it.
She is almost 4 months old and weighs 66 grams.

Had anyone ever seen anything like this before? I've looked up just about every bird bump condition and nothing seems to resemble it.

is it her crop? A crop usually isn't hard, but it could be firmer if full..It's hard to see the location in the pictures but it's smart to get him to the vet no matter what, as even healthy birds should be checked.
If it is actually like a wart in texture, then that is likely not the crop, but the location kind of looks like it could be in the picture-- again though, hard to tell.

Has he been chewing on any fibers or rope toys? Crops can become impacted. I am no vet (obviously) so get your bird to one for sure-- I am just throwing ideas out there.

Thanks for the reply! It doesn't seem like her crop as it's right next to the top of the keel bone but I don't know! It's really hard to get a good picture because of it's location. And it's so small you can't see it unles you move back her feathers.
It's smaller than a pencil eraser in width.

I hope it's not impacted! We've had her for only 2 weeks and the toys and house are conure proofed for my Sun Conure.. So none of our toys should have any fibers for her to be going at. She's also always being monitored by my boyfriend in his office while he's working.

Im not sure if maybe it's a messed up feather follicle or an injury.. Being so small she's still so daring and tries to fly around everywhere, I don't think she bumped anything but it could be a possibility too.

Im including a picture of where it is hidden in her feathers, so you can see the approximate location.

Yea- that seems low for the crop if that is where it is located. I am not sure-- it could be a follicle issue or any number of things - hopefully your vet can shed some light on the matter. Is your vet an avian vet or an exotics vet?

Just throwing things out there---it's probably not this, but how old is your bird? Egg-binding can also produce swelling in the abdomen. Do you know if your bird is female or male and is he/she sexually mature? Isn't the top of the keel-bone higher up than that? I mean, the crop is roughly at the top of my bird's keel bone...but maybe it's a matter of wording. That looks lower than the top of the keel bone though.

I guess it's adjacent to the tip of the keel bone, the part that you can feel. Sorry about my wording I've just been so stressed out. It just seems lower than the crop so I was worried it might be a tumor or feather cyst.. I have no idea but she doesn't seem to even notice it's there.
It is also not very prominent.. Like you really have to search for it.. I think that's why I've had so much trouble finding anything similar as most online pictures are extreme.

She's only 4 months so I don't think she'd be having any eggs yet and it's an Avian vet, which is another reason the appointments are so hard to get.

Again I really appreciate all of this info because it's helping me try to figure things out!

Oh woops- missed that about the age (now I see you told me her age in your original post and I missed it). It could be a cyst of some sort/lipoma- get her in ASAP but take heart in knowing that normal droppings, normal eating, normal play etc means that she's doing okay for now. The thing is, you don't want to put it off because things can happen quickly with birds.

That having been said, there are many benign causes---so get her checked, but try to sleep.

What does she eat? A diet high in seeds can sometimes lead to lumps.

I wish I could help more--again, I am not an expert-- I am just throwing out things that I know a bit about, but there are many other things that I know little about...so take this all with a grain of salt.

Yeah as soon as I saw it I scheduled the visit, it's just so hard waiting a week.
She gets chop every morning (Kale, Bok Choy, spinach, carrot, Broccoli, green beans, zucchini, strawberry, apple), and a mixture of Zupreem pellets (nut, veggie, fruit blend), she only really gets seeds as a treat.

If she starts to get worse, I bet they would squeeze you in as an emergency for an extra fee--- my vet will.

So update, turns out this bump was from her vaccinations she got before we adopted her. Nothing to be concerned about unless it grows or gets infected. My skittles is good! ��

Awesome! Better to know than to wonder (especially give the way that parrots hide illness)!! I applaud you for getting him/her in, and I hope you sleep well knowing you did the right thing!
