bulk food

hi all
we got 3 spoiled suns I buy the bulk stuff at out local pet shop.so I went searching to see if I can get big bags 25#. i found this, but now I'm wondering about the pellet type food. is it better ,(less waste) and or would they eat it ? btw I do give the fresh fruits etc tia

Parrots waste a lot of food, even food they really like. When you are changing a parrots diet from seed to pellets, please don't expect immediate results, it takes a while to convince avid seed eaters that pellets are a better choice. To answer your question, yes, I think pellets are healthier than an all seed diet. Fresh foods should be a big part of a parrot's daily diet.

Commercial seed mixes vary greatly in nutritional value. If you want to buy in bulk, I would consider ordering from My Safe Bird Store as Terry mentioned, a lot of online sources sell high quality pellets and seed mixes.

thanks you ,that is some excellent information going to take a bit to take it all in, but you need to do it right, they depend on us, as for wasted food I got plastic sheets on the wood floor, I sweep up what they kick to the floor and feed to the outside birds etc waste not.....
