I recently moved to Portales New Mexico, there is nothing here except for my beautiful home and piece of land that my partner and I have bought. We have about 2 acres in the back and 30% of that is gonna be a bird sanctuary, the rest will be an orchard. I want a fountain/pond in the aviary I also want fruit trees that are safe for parrots as well as many swings and natural looking perches! I want to plant trees and landscape it appropriately to make it all look very aesthetic and jungly feeling maybe a lot of tropical plants would like to incorporate a river and a bridge. I have 2000 sq ft to work with. What are some good ideas that can be shared with me? This is gonna be a long journey to build this sanctuary.

Fish in the pond to cut down on mosquitoes and other biting insects! My aunt and uncle swear by their fish pond :)
