Pleases help Iā€™m very concerned, First I hate this dome top cage what a dumb thing all the dishes on one level and the hanging toys all the way up in high ,ugh...I had a large cicel type boing and cotton boing I have been scrubbing and soaking and switching out cause the poop gets on them . I have been drying them outside anyway when I went to clean this one today before I soak I scrub spots in the set tube and those tiny red bugs came out,!,!,ahhhhh Iā€™m worried what the heck my poor April . Definitely calling the vet tomorrow to get her in ,but has anyone dealt with this . She does not climb the cage at all so I have been using a boing to get her up and near her toys . But the poop inevitably falls to lower boing....I put everything in the oven to sterilize and kill ,I thought I had a good plan the switch I will get new boings or swings she really does not have a good handle on climbing or footing on the perches. I have 2 rough large perches and one to cut( it is to long for the cage) 2 length rope perches one huge java y perch with toys in wrapped with vet wrap stuff , and aboing to get her to the higher levels where her toys are. I have various educational toys placed on sides .4 feeder bowls . The cage is the A&E super large dome top, which I have a different cage coming will be finished in October , Any and all help is greatly appreciated and please thoughts on what to do to safely clean and dry this stuff ? this cage is stupid big what a waste, Iā€™m feeling really upset my baby ! I need it to be clean and safe ....help:red1:

Hi ! Others will chime in here ( hopefully) but to me teeny tiny red bugs says Mites of one kind or another.
Make sure the vet you will be seeing is a Avian cetified vet and not just a dog/cat vet who also will see Birds. Good luck. What do you mean about having a cage made that will be ready in October?

Itā€™s those little red bugs on the bricks and pavement outside we use to call them blood suckers as a kids they are really tiny I donā€™t know what they really are . I ordered a custom ss cage a month ago , I really dislike the dome and the dishes inside like this . I got one like my mom cause I love hers the macaw playtop made in the USA cause of all that safety stuff she has 2for forever they are so nice and well planned, my boyfriend says he thought they are little spiders. Yes certified avian vet I checked before I got April

Okay so I found them they are called clover mites, and they ARE arachnids oh he is gonna love that. Says they are harmless I guess when I laid it out in the sun on the cement path they went on it and I brought them in , gonna get lots extras ,stuff takes forever to dry in the house! Not a big fan of bugs lol

I either use I little bleach or vinegar to sanitize toys and hang to dry inside the house
