I moved Buddy to his new cage Saturday night and I was impressed with how easy he was about it. There was popcorn in the mix, popcorn in his cup, great welcome gift, lol.

Sunday morning he was bubbly and ate some fresh pear, corn on the cob, and edamame. Each day I've been introducing new, fresh foods, most he's not loving but we are finding fresh items he likes. So far he likes pear, apple, yellow bell pepper, and clearly popcorn but that his a treat. He loves it so much he dances when you say popcorn. The dogs love popcorn too so when I make popcorn they are all dancing. I've tried these items but Buddy hasn't taken to them: mango, banana, strawberry, kale, snow pea, purple hull peas, carrot, and dried papaya. Each day I line something new up with something he likes. Today will be egg, edamame and apple. We've been eating better too so the fresh stuff isn't wasted with Buddy, definite positive.

Here's a pic of the crew. Buddy gets down low when the dogs come. They want the popcorn he dropped in the bottom but they do get nose to nose. They smell, Buddy barks. Buddy came out of his cage to visit with me last night. The dogs sat around us watching Buddy. I played youtube videos of amazons talking and singing. Very entertaining watching Buddy watch youtube, he starts "purring" and was mimicking a few whistles I think he knows but he hasn't quite shared yet. Great quality time with him for sure.

That's a great cage for him !!! [im glad you got it ] . When I first got my Zon .I changed him out of his cage [and gave it to my sunconure ] His old owners said he didn't play . Now my 30 plus year old zon plays all the time :) I think the size makes a big difference .

That's an awesome cage you got for Buddy!
Your dogs are beautiful too:)

Thanks. I love this cage. The one he came with was thin wire and had plastic ties holding the joints together. I haven't put his toys in, that is going to be done today. I didn't know if that would be overwhelming to him and right now he's not playing. When he comes out, he explores a little, loves his play top. Each day gets better, like earlier, I stuck my finger through the bars. He grabbed my finger and pulled it a little, then rammed his head against it. A definite command that said "scratch", lol. So he got a good head scratch.
