Brown tinged feathers in YNA

Need a pic, and background, age, diet, previous history, any sunshine ( has a great effect on feathers) as long as you stay in light shade and stay with bird in secure cage.

Heā€™s 9 months, had a full vet workup last month, eats minimal seed...tons of everything else good for him. Doesnā€™t get any real sunshine yet. Always indoors.

Iā€™ll try to get a decent picture later.

Itā€™s probably nothing, but who knows. BTW:

When do YNAs molt? And keep in mind that weā€™re in South Florida.

So it looks like he is over preening, and barbers feathers a little bit.

Make sure plenty if easy to shred stuff. Make sure plenty of baths, and veggies :)

He gets tons of veggies. Fresh stuff is 85% of his diet. Very little seed.

I started showering last week, 3 times a week.

He has tons of chew wood that he demolishes.

And I know heā€™s not over preening. Iā€™m near him like 24/7, and he maybe has a session or two a day that lasts 5 minutes.

My plucker does at night, I very rarely see her pluck...
I'm just offering what I think I see. Many parrots development feather destructive problem, even in the best homes.
Some seed, and some nuts with fats is good for them, some boiled eggs, or scrambled eggs...
Anyway know you love your baby! Good luck! When the Amazon people see your post I'm sure they can offer ideas.

I have never paid close attention to when my YNA molts but I think around November. I remember this cuz it's shortly before he goes hormonal on me.

I think there is a second molt in June but I am less clear about the timing.
